Tenute Ferrocinto - A Historic Estate Where Tradition Meets Innovation

Logo Tenute Ferrocinto

Nestled in the north-eastern reaches of Calabria, on the eastern edge of the Pollino National Park, Tenute Ferrocinto stands as a testament to heritage, precision, and progress. Geographically positioned at the very heart of the Italian peninsula, the estate enjoys a unique microclimate shaped by its equidistant proximity to both the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west and the Ionian Sea to the east. This balance creates a natural rhythm of hot days and cool nights - ideal conditions for agricultural excellence.

The origins of Tenute Ferrocinto date back to 1855, when the first cultivations were established. In 2003, the estate underwent a comprehensive renovation, embracing cutting-edge techniques while preserving its historical essence. Today, the property spans approximately 130 hectares, with around 50 hectares actively cultivated. The land sits at an average altitude of 450 metres above sea level, and its clay-limestone soils, rich in potassium, benefit from consistent sunlight - an environment that fosters exceptional quality and character in its produce.

A defining feature of Tenute Ferrocinto is its two-tiered production facility. The upper level is dedicated to modern processes, including gentle pressing and controlled fermentation, while the lower-level honours traditional methods, where time and craftsmanship guide the maturation process under the watchful eyes of experienced artisans. This dual approach reflects a philosophy that values both innovation and authenticity.

Currently transitioning to organic farming, Tenute Ferrocinto demonstrates a clear commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Every aspect of its operation - from soil management to production - is guided by respect for nature and a vision for the future.

Whether as a destination, a partner in agricultural initiatives, or a model of harmonious tradition and technology, Tenute Ferrocinto embodies quality, integrity, and forward-thinking—right in the heart of Calabria.
