The esteemed wine cooperative Vinchio Vaglio Serra was founded in 1959 in the heart of Piedmont, taking its name from the two villages—Vinchio and Vaglio Serra—from which its founding members hailed. Today, the Cantina ranks among the region’s most respected producers, bringing together 224 dedicated growers who cultivate approximately 320 hectares of prime vineyard land.
Most of these vineyards lie within the historic boundaries of Vinchio and Vaglio Serra, complemented by outstanding plots in Incisa Scapaccino, Cortiglione, and Nizza Monferrato. These privileged sites in the Alto Monferrato, a subregion of Piedmont, are defined by steep hills and mineral-rich, chalky soils—conditions that lend themselves perfectly to wines of depth, character, and elegance.
Vinchio Vaglio Serra is particularly renowned for its Barbera wines, including the award-winning “Vigne Vecchie”. The vines are planted densely to maximise sun exposure, and the naturally low yields result in grapes of remarkable concentration and elevated sugar levels—ideal for producing expressive, structured red wines of exceptional quality.
Committed to sustainable viticulture, the Cantina operates all vineyards under an integrated farming system. A dedicated technical advisory service supports members in minimising the use of chemical treatments while preserving grape integrity. The result is wine that not only delights the palate but can be enjoyed with a clear conscience.
At Vinchio Vaglio, cutting-edge winemaking technology meets living tradition. The cellar facilities are continuously updated to reflect the latest advancements, yet the soul of Piedmontese winemaking remains ever-present. This harmonious blend of innovation and heritage positions Vinchio Vaglio Serra as a benchmark for authentic Piedmontese wine—a trusted name for those who value quality, sustainability, and provenance.
