AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA D.O.C.G 2015

Wine making: After the harvest at the end of September, the grapes for the Amarone are spread out in dry houses in the hills of the Valpolicella. The classic varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone dry in small boxes until spring. The dried and highly concentrated grapes are then fermented on the mash and aged in large oak barrels for 24 months.

Color: Dark ruby red with violet reflections.

Sensory characteristics: The Castelforte Amarone della Valpolicella is a full-bodied red wine. The long, slow fermentation gives this wine a complex bouquet of cinnamon, cherry jam and walnut, as well as a palate of ripe black cherry fruits with notes of vanilla and coffee on the finish. Long final.

Alcohol content: 15,0 % Vol.

Residual sugar: 7,0 g/l

Acidity: 5,6 g/l

Stopper: Natural cork

How to serve: The Amarone goes perfectly with rich pasta dishes, game and grilled or steamed red meat and mature cheese.

Recommended serving temperature: Between 18 and 20°C.

Grape: 100% Nebbiolo

Contents: 0.75 liters

Characterization: The grape is produced from the Nebbiolo variety that matures at the end of October. The clusters are blue intense, they extend to grey for the abundant wax that dresses again the grapes. Their form is lengthened, pyramidal, with small grapes, spherical and with substantial peel. The plant, strong with a rapid growth, requires particular criterions of pruning. The leaves have an average size with three or five lobes. Barrel ageing makes this wine unalterable in time. Barolo wine is appreciated for the culture, tradition and hard work that it embodies: the high quality of this product guarantees its continued presence on the market, achieving further success both in image and appeal on a national and international level.

Winemaking: Destalking and crushing, maceration at controlled temperature in programmable vinifiers.

Sensory characteristics: This Barolo gains an intense, extraordinary complex bouquet, with clear notes of violet, goudron and vanilla.

Its taste is ample, warm and caressing.

Color: Garnet red colour with orangish reflections.

Alcohol content: 14,0 % Vol.

Stopper: Natural cork

How to serve: This Barolo goes well with red meat, roastbeef and game. It is also suitable with truffled courses, matured and spicy cheeses.

Sensory characteristics: In the complex bouquet, aromas of ripe morello cherries, red berries, spices and herbs reminiscent of thyme and oregano.

Powerful and supple on the palate, with optimally integrated tannins, resulting in a long, juicy finish.

How to serve: This wine goes with stewed meat, grilled meats, game, wild poultry, gravy, meat sauce, hard cheese.
