The estate SPADAIO E PIECORTO, a former ancient castle of the Florentine Republic from the 12th century, comprises 90 hectares and has two buildings: a manor house and a small ancient church. The vineyard is situated at about 400m above sea level and extends over 14 hectares. Of these, only 5 hectares are dedicated to the production of the Chianti Classico.
PIECORTO is the name of a small castle, which lies on a flat ridge and which is crossed by an ancient Roman road. From here you have a wonderful view: on one side, the panorama extends to the gentle Chianti hills with their vineyards and woods, on the other side you can admire the hills and valleys with the small ancient castles and the beautiful towers of the town of San Gimignano.
