Description

"Exclusive" Prosecco Spumante Brut "Balbinot" DOC 2022/ Balbinot / Veneto

Sparkling wine from Italy

Founded in the mid-20th century in San Pietri di Faletto, in the Valdobbiadene area, the Le Manzane agricultural company is a family business that has existed for three generations and whose tradition is perpetuated thanks to the passion for wine but also the love for the land. The company mainly produces Prosecco in different varieties. "Balbinot" is a typical name of the Treviso area. And in fact, the Balbinot family has been based in the Conegliano area, in the province of Treviso, for centuries. Here is the heart of the famous Prosecco region that has become synonymous with "Italian lifestyle" all over the world. Here the Balbinot family owns around 40 hectares of Prosecco vineyards, from which they produce their own Prosecco. Only grapes from their own production are used for this, and that is also the pride of the family.

The Glera is a white grape variety that grows only in north-eastern Italy, in a small region of the province of Treviso in Veneto. From it one presses mainly a sparkling wine, as well as sparkling wines, but also normal wine. The grape variety Glera was already known in ancient times as "vinum Puclnum" and was extremely popular. Glera grapes are small and green yellow in colour. The grape variety is known for its high yields and its ability to reach high acid levels, which contributes to the freshness and vibrancy of Prosecco.

Immediately after the manual harvest of the grapes, they are transported to the winery, gently pressed, and fermented at a controlled temperature of 13°C in stainless steel vats. Then the alcoholic fermentation begins at a temperature of 18°C. Subsequent racking and aging in steel for two months. Then a second fermentation is started in the autoclave for about 30 days at about 14-15°C and further refinement for another month in the autoclave. After the final filtration, the Prosecco is bottled. This is followed by at least thirty days of aging in the bottle, which gives this sparkling wine its final touch.

he "Exclusive" Prosecco Spumante Brut "Balbinot" DOC differs from other Proseccos thanks to its fruity, fresh taste and its very fine, elegant, and long-lasting perlage. These characteristics are mainly achieved through a very careful selection of the best grapes and through a much longer fermentation process.

Served in a Prosecco flute, this sparkling drop is straw yellow with greenish reflections. With its immediately striking invigorating and stimulating bubbles, the "Exclusive" Prosecco Spumante Brut "Balbinot" DOC from Le Manzane delights the nose with clear aromas of citrus fruits and subtle tones of yeast. The taste of this Prosecco is dry, fresh, and pleasantly tart.

At a well-chilled optimal drinking temperature of around 7 to 9°C, Le Manzane Prosecco is perfect as an aperitif. Otherwise, an excellent accompaniment to starters, fish dishes, vegetarian dishes, and seafood. And you are by no means a philistine when you serve it with pasta and light sauces.

Grape variety

GLERA

The GLERA is an autochthonous white grape variety that is mainly cultivated in the Italian region of Veneto. The Glera grape has a long history, having been cultivated in Veneto as far back as the 18th century. However, the grape variety has long been known by various names such as Prosecco, Serprina and Gleria. Finally, in 2009, the grape variety was given its official name, Glera, to avoid confusion and misunderstandings. The variety is mainly responsible for the production of the famous Italian sparkling wine Prosecco and represents the basis for this refreshing and sparkling wine. Glera grapes are small and green yellow in colour. The grape variety is known for its high yields and its ability to reach high acid levels, which contributes to the freshness and vibrancy of Prosecco. The Glera grapes ripen late and need a lot of sun to develop their characteristic aromas of citrus fruits and white flowers. The variety is very adaptable to different soil and climatic conditions, which has contributed to its spread to other parts of Italy and the world.
