In the gentle hills of Serdiana, located north of Cagliari in the enchanting south of the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, blossoms the young winemaker Antonella Corda as a radiant new discovery of the Italian wine scene. With her unique red Cannonau, she has already clinched the coveted 3 glasses from Gambero Rosso twice in a row. Yet, the story of Cantina Antonella Corda is not just the tale of a winery but also the narrative of its founder. It's a story deeply rooted in its origins: a childhood surrounded by the gentle vines, a family of winemakers dedicated to the craft for generations, a mother passing on the love for the earth, and a father imparting the passion for the trade. In 2010, Antonella took on the legacy of her family, shouldering the responsibility for the enterprise. In doing so, she pursued a vision that merged innovation with tradition: the creation of a boutique winery producing the finest Sardinian wines, carrying the beauty of Serdiana's land out into the world. With every sip of her exquisite wines, unfolds the story of a family, a tradition, and an unwavering passion for the craft of winemaking. Antonella Corda and her Cantina are not only guardians of a heritage but also ambassadors of Sardinian culture and the unique terroir they cherish and preserve.

The foundation for the "Ziru" Isola dei Nuraghi IGT is laid in the wine country surrounding Serdiana, where grapes thrive on the gentle hills. Here, the vines, nurtured with the Guyot pruning method, unfold their full potential on the typical calcareous-clayey soils of the region. For the Sardinians, the word "Ziru" holds a special significance - it refers to terracotta vessels and amphorae. It is precisely in such containers that Antonella Corda's "Ziru" unveils its unique aroma and richness.

The Ziru is crafted from an exquisite selection of indigenous white grapes, gently handpicked during the first ten days of September to harvest the finest fruits. At the winery, the grapes undergo destemming and crushing followed by alcoholic fermentation, along with maceration on the skins for approximately 20 days. Subsequently, the wine matures for 24 months in terracotta amphorae as well as in steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine undergoes meticulous filtration. Once bottled, this exceptional white wine rests for an extended period to unfold its complete harmony.

The Ziru Isola dei Nuraghi by Antonella Corda presents itself in radiant golden-yellow, a true feast for the eyes. Its bouquet is marked by an impressive complexity that indulges the senses - a harmonious blend of floral nuances underscored by a fruity-mineral note. Delicate hints of white-fleshed fruits and citrus fruits combine with floral notes and wild herbal tones. In the mouth, a dryness unfolds, accompanied by freshness and rich fullness, complemented by a pleasant aroma. The supple tannins, which develop during maturation in amphorae, envelop the palate in a gentle embrace.

This masterpiece by Antonella Corda unfolds its full potential at a recommended serving temperature of approximately 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Excellent as an aperitif, it also elegantly complements vegetarian dishes. Perfect at the table, this white wine pairs exquisitely with seafood risotto and simple fish dishes such as grilled sea bream. Furthermore, it accompanies meat dishes like lamb with lemon in a particularly tasteful manner.
